Things that expire, and what it costs to find out late.

Nothing here is about NxtDue. These are the lists we kept having to write out for ourselves: what actually has an expiry date in Indian life, what happens when one slips, and where to look for the ones you have forgotten. Read them, write the dates down somewhere — anywhere — and get on with your day.

Everything in Indian life that quietly expires

One checklist, grouped by where it bites: vehicle, insurance, home, identity, money and digital. Includes the ones almost nobody has written down — PPF's ₹500 a year, FASTag re-KYC, the locker rent.

The long list. Start here if you want to do this properly once.

Your car and bike papers, and what a lapse costs

Insurance, PUC, fitness, licence, RC, FASTag KYC — how long each is valid, the fines under the Motor Vehicles Act, and the ninety-day rule that quietly deletes years of No Claim Bonus.

The one with real money attached.

Find the subscriptions you forgot you were paying for

Six places to look, in order — Play, the App Store, UPI AutoPay mandates, card e-mandates, your inbox and your statement. Most people find two they had entirely forgotten.

Forty minutes, usually pays for itself.

Why these exist

Every one of these guides started as a mistake. A policy that lapsed because the reminder mail went to Promotions. A warranty that ran out eleven days before the thing broke. An annual plan that renewed for a third year running.

None of it is complicated. That is the frustrating part — these are not hard problems, they are invisible ones, and they stay invisible right up until the moment they cost you. Writing them down is most of the fix, and it does not matter whether you write them in an app, a spreadsheet or the back of a diary.

Everything here is general information, not professional advice, and rules change — several of these vary by state. Check the current position with the RTO, your insurer or your bank before you act on a number. Where a figure comes from a specific rule, the guide says which one, so you can verify it yourself.

Or let something else remember for you.

NxtDue keeps every one of these dates in one list and nudges you well before each arrives. Free plan — 10 reminders, no card, no countdown.
